Liquid Body Armor
"The key component of liquid armor is a shear thickening fluid. STF is composed of hard particles suspended in a liquid. The liquid, polyethylene glycol, is non-toxic, and can withstand a wide range of temperatures. Hard, nano-particles of silica are the other components of STF. This combination of flowable and hard components results in a material with unusual properties."

I bet that they totally ripped this idea off from the Terminator movies. If I were James Cameron, I'd pull a Lars Ulrich and sue the bastards for copyright infringement, then get Napster shut down again just for the hell of it.
In the not-so-distant future, Mankind will send robots off to fight their wars for them. The peaceniks, however, will still find something to bitch about.
