The Iraq War-Anthrax-CIA Connection
"Maybe it’s too late for an intellectual debate,
but a residue of confusion remains.
Changing with the times,
and developmentally tortured minds
are the average citizen's sources of pain.
Tell me what we’re fighting for—
I don’t remember anymore,
only temporary reprieve..." ~ 'Atheist Peace' - Bad Religion
I love conspiracy theories! They're almost as good as beer, pizza, and sex, in that order.
During the many outrageous and entertaining government plots to manipulate and terrorize the American populace that the U.S. commits every day in my imagination, I came across this wonderful and entertaining little scheme while I was on my way to work earlier today.
Now we all remember the hawks of Washington attempting to cook up a reason to attack Iraq ever since Desert Storm ended in 1991. Of course, an attack on Iraq would have occurred a long time ago had Clinton not won the Presidency in 1992, I can almost guarantee it (the same big name players, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell, etc. were all behind the scenes pulling the strings when the first Bush was in the White House; such an odd coincidence that they would reappear when the second Bush was elected in 2000).
And we also remember that the Anthrax Scare occurred not even a month after 9/11, seemingly out of nowhere, and turned the entire nation into one big gigantic paranoid wreck. People were buying facemasks, duct tape, plastic to put over their windows, examining their incoming mail for evidence of tampering, and freaking out over every little unexplainable trace of white powder that happened to pop up (I distinctly remember the CoffeeMate phase, at one point).
Of course, it didn't take long at all for the Iraq-Anthrax Connection to appear. It was almost too convenient, and yet at the same time, it felt so right to implicate a country ruled by such an abominable human being as Saddam Hussein. He was, by far and away, the perfect scapegoat; better than Lee Harvey Oswald was to John F. Kennedy's necessary sacrifice.
But then, over the next few months, something even more sinister began to surface amid public scrutiny. An Anthrax-CIA Connection began to rear its ugly, theoretical head and raise even more questions.
Who was involved?
Why did it happen?
Who was to blame?
Well, the whos and whys are certainly debatable. But one has to wonder why such a comprehensive study report was submitted less than a year before the attacks by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention; most notably these guys...
The following CDC staff members prepared this report:
David A. Ashford, D.V.M., M.P.H., D.Sc.
Bradley Perkins, M.D.
Division of Bacterial and Mycotic Diseases
Lisa D. Rotz, M.D.
Office of Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response
National Center for Infectious Diseases
...when no bio-terror attack of this magnitude had ever occurred before in the history of the United States, much less the entire world. It becomes especially more interesting when we take into consideration the fact that on May 18, 1998, Secretary of Defense William Cohen approved an anthrax vaccination plan for the U.S. military, which was a 6-shot series of anthrax vaccination during a 4-phase innoculation timeframe for all members of the U.S. armed forces, including non-military Department of Defense personnel who were assigned to any particular area of threat.
When faced with these immediate facts, one can come to the conclusion that the U.S. Government was conducting a study of anthrax vaccinations and effects of the virus and vaccine upon U.S. Government and military personnel. During this time, other offices of the Government were devising a plot to invade Iraq, but perhaps did not have a valid reason to go to war with that country as of yet. Then 9/11 happened, and those pertinent offices of the Government saw their chance and seized the opportunity. The CIA (or members of that organization, at least), ever watchful and cooperative, obtained access to the Ames strain and released it into the general American population via the United States Postal Service system. Then pertinent information was released to the appropriate news media outlets, and Iraq was implicated as the prime suspect in the anthrax mail attacks.
Though bio-chem-nuclear agents were the basis for the war in Iraq in the form of weapons of mass destruction, none could ever be accounted for after the 2003 invasion, even though there were mountains of evidence that Iraq had such weapons or was in the process of manufacturing them prior to the U.N. inspectors' ouster from Iraq by Saddam Hussein in 1998. Nonetheless, the road to war with Iraq was carried out shrewdly, ingeniously, mercilessly, and without any shred of remorse nor regard toward any innocent human lives that might have gotten in the way. And even though the anthrax attacks were very likely NOT carried out by Iraqi agents inside the U.S., the attacks implanted a seed of hatred toward Iraq inside the minds of the general American populace that no amount of proof to the contrary could ever erase. Thus, making the road to war with Iraq that much smoother.
Goddamn, I wish I could have thought of that one. Oh yeah, I forgot...I did think of that one.
The ends should never justify the means. The means shouldn't matter at all, just as long as they lead us to the ends and to victory.
Fuck playing fair.
